Mens Walking Boots
Advice about choosing walking boots
Before you buy new walking boots, think carefully about what you will use them for. In the Peak District you will need a much more durable boot for trekking across Kinder Scout in February than you will for a summer ramble in the White Peak.
Most boots today have waterproof membranes which is great but can lead to sweaty feet.
Think about the weight of the boots - your legs have to lift them off the ground every second and can add to fatuige on a long walk.
Buy good quality socks - no matter how good your boots are, bad socks will cause discomfort.
Once you have bought your boots, make sure you clean them after use. Dark peak mud can be very corrosive to boots.
