Penine Bridleway National Trail to be repaired

It seems that Britain's first purpose built long distance bridleway wasn't built to be too durable to Derbyshire weather. The bridleway has been impassable all summer due to flooding at Highstool Lane near Chelmorton and Wormhill near Buxton.

£7000 is being spent on the penine bridleway in repairs to keep the 53 mile Peak district and Derbyshire section open.

Lets hope that the Penine Bridleway builders further north take note as the final sections are built to complete the 350 mile trail. The Penine Bridelway runs from middleton top in Derbyshire to Northumberland and is suitable for horse riders and cyclists as well as walkers
